Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to all websites operated by Living Computers: Museum + Labs ("LCML+L" or "us"), including www.livingcomputermuseum.com, www.livingcomputermuseum.org, www.pdpplanet.com, and https://livingcomputers.org (collectively, the "Site") and describes LCM+L’s policies and practices regarding any data or information you post, upload, submit, transmit or otherwise provide to LCM+L in connection with the Site ("User Information"). By accessing or using the Site, including registering for any products or services in connection with the Site, you consent to LCM+L’s collection, storage, use and disclosure of User Information as described in this Privacy Policy and agree to be legally bound to LCM+L’s Terms of Use ("TOU"). Capitalized terms used but not defined in this Privacy Policy have the meanings set forth in the TOU
LCM+L reserves the right, at any time, to update or modify this Privacy Policy and TOU and will provide notice by indicating on the webpage the date it was last updated. You acknowledge and agree that it is your responsibility to check for any updates or modifications to the Privacy Policy and TOU, and your continued use of the Site following any such changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
 

User Information We Collect

LCM+L may collect and store User Information when you use the Site. LCM+L may use or disclose User Information in order to administer and operate the Site, provide certain features or functionality of the Site, improve the Site’s quality, track web traffic or usage of the Site, fulfill your requests, personalize your experience on the Site, provide feedback to third parties, market the Site, provide technical and user support, diagnose problems with the Site or servers, back up LCM+L’s systems to allow for disaster recovery, enhance the security of the Site, or comply with legal obligations. Among the User Information LCM+L collects, please note the following:
 
  1. User Registration: If you register for Opt-in Services, LCM+L may store your full name and email address. If you choose to receive Opt-in Services, you are agreeing to receive communications related to the Site. You may opt-out of receiving certain communications through Opt-in Services, but you cannot opt-out of receiving any administrative or legal messages from LCM+L, which LCM+L is legally obligated to do.

  2. Submissions: LCM+L may store any Submissions you provide to LCM+L.

  3. Communications: LCM+L may store information that you provide via communications with LCM+L, including phone calls, letters, emails and other electronic messages.

  4. Activity: LCM+L may store information about your use of the Site, including without limitation, your search activity, the pages you view, the date and time of your visit, and other activities you engage while on the Site.

  5. Device Transmission: LCM+L stores your Internet Protocol (IP) address, which is a number that is automatically assigned to your computer or devices when you browse the internet. LCM+L may also store other information that your computer or device transmits or provides in connection with your use of the Site, such as your IP address, browser type, type of computer or device, browser language, mobile carrier, phone number, unique device identifier, advertising identifier, location (including geolocation, beacon based location, and GPS location), and requested and referring URLs. You may be able to disallow certain location data through your device or browser settings.

Cookies and Do Not Track

The Site is developed using Active Server Pages (ASP), and we use per-session "cookies" (pieces of data your browser stores in your computer's memory at LCM+L's request) to establish user sessions on our server. We use the cookies to carry information about usage from page to page through the Site. LCM+L does not use cookies to retrieve Personal Information (defined below) about you from your computer. LCM+L may use cookies to manage, configure and improve the operation of the Site. We may permit selected third parties to collect information from our Site visitors about their online activities over time and across different websites. Most browsers are set up to accept cookies, but you may change your browser settings to refuse them, to the extent possible. If you disable cookies, your browser may experience some erratic behavior on some portions of the Site. We do not currently use technology that responds to “do not track” signals from your web browser.
 

Personal Information

If you sign up for Opt-in Services or otherwise join LCM+L’s mailing list, you will be asked to provide identifiable information including, your full name, email address, phone number, zip code and membership status ("Personal Information"). Personal Information does not include credit card information or other information that you may choose to provide to LCM+L's authorized third party vendors or ticket sellers. The use of any such information will be governed solely by such third party’s privacy policy, where applicable.
 

Use of Personal Information

Except as provided below under "Disclosures for Legal Reasons", we will not sell, trade or otherwise provide Personal Information without your consent or authorization to any third party other than to entities affiliated with LCM+L or vendors we engage to perform functions on our behalf with respect to the Site that are subject to similar restrictions as set forth in this Privacy Policy. We will use Personal Information only for the purposes of sending you updates and information regarding the Site and LCM+L. We may compile and provide aggregate statistics about our Site visitors to third parties, but these statistics will not include any Personal Information.

Personal Information collected on the Site will be stored and processed in the United States and by using the Site, you expressly consent to any such transfer of information outside of your country.
 

Integrity of your Personal Information

LCM+L is committed to protecting the security of your Personal Information. We use a variety of security technologies and procedures to help protect your Personal Information from unauthorized access, use or disclosure. You have the right to access and correct the Personal Information you have provided by contacting us at info@livingcomputers.org.
 

Protection of Children's Personal Information

Livingcomputers.org is a general audience site and does not knowingly collect any Personal Information from children.
 

Use of Submissions

As described in the TOU, LCM+L does not accept or collect Submissions containing confidential or proprietary information. Consequently, LCM+L may use Submissions for any purpose whatsoever.

Please Note: We do not accept proposals concerning film production companies, film/TV scripts or concept papers, themed amusement parks or restaurants, music acts, record companies, or recording studios.
 

Disclosures for Legal Reasons

LCM+L will also disclose your User Information, including Personal Information, when it believes, in its sole discretion, that the law requires such disclosure or that such disclosure is necessary to comply with the law; protect and defend the rights or property of LCM+L or others; or act under exigent circumstances to protect the personal safety of the public or the users of the Site; or in the event that all or part of our operations are transferred through a merger, acquisition or sale.
 

Third Party Content

This Privacy Policy applies only to information collected by LCM+L in connection with the Site. The Site may contain Third Party Content or links to other websites, which are governed by the third parties’ respective privacy policies. LCM+L has no control over the information collection, storage or use of such third parties and has no responsibility to you for the policies that relate to any Third Party Content. You assume the sole risk and liability for any information that is collected, stored or transmitted outside of the Site.
 

California Residents: Your California Privacy Rights

LCM+L does not disclose your personal information to third parties for the purpose of directly marketing their services to you unless you first agree to such disclosure. Please contact us if you have any questions regarding this policy.
 

Notification of Changes

If LCM+L is going to use Personal Information in a manner different from that stated at the time of collection through this Site, LCM+L will notify those from whom LCM+L has collected Personal Information via email. You will then have a choice as to whether or not we may continue using your Personal Information in this different manner. In addition, if LCM+L decides to make any material changes in our privacy practices that do not affect Personal Information already collected through the Site, we will post a notice on the Site notifying you of the change.
