The Living Computers: Museum + Labs catalog contains nearly 35,000 records of the collection's equipment, manuals, technical drawings, hardware, and software. LCM+L collects materials to support our engineering team as they restore and maintain the various computers in our collection. LCM+L is actively collecting more materials to tell better stories about the history of computer hardware, software, and their users.
Each of the computers on exhibit is backed up with thorough sets of documentation, software, and spares, which are findable in the catalog. The collection is strongest in Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC) minicomputers, IBM mainframe computers, and early microcomputers. Many other manufacturers and types of computer are collected and represented here.
